I have heard this word so much this year that I had to write about it. I do not know of one word that gets me going more than this one.Almost is only in horseshoes and handgrenades. Then, I found this website today.
Almost only counts in Horseshoes and Hand Grenades
After last nights debacle of a game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Miami Dolphins, it got me to thinking about ALMOST. Then I hear a Dolphin fan say this morning "We almost won". Last nights game must have used ALMOST 500 times.
Monday morning, I caught myself talking about what could have been if the Eagles had of scored the touchdown. It was ALMOST a loss for the Patriots.
Problem with this word is it means that you did not obtain what you set out to do. And for someone like me, a goal setter, ALMOST is nothing acceptable.
