Blame - Power Quotes Series

Too many times in life do we find it easy to place blame instead of accepting responsibility or looking for the fix to the issue. Spencer Johnson once wrote a book called the "One Minute Manager". In the book, the Manager in question had this saying: "I do not hire people to bring me problems. Instead, I hire them to bring me solutions." This is the same with blame.

Way too often when a closing goes bad, we are too quick to point the finger. I wonder what the outcome would be if instead we jumped in to help be part of the solution.

I hope that these quotes will help to inspire you today.

Fix the Problem, not the blame.
Catherine Pulsifer

"I praise loudly, I blame softly."
Catherine II of Russia

“People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don’t believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up
and look for the circumstances they want, and, if they can’t find them, make them.”
George Bernard Shaw

"A man should never be ashamed to own he has been in the wrong, which is but saying, in other words, that he is wiser today than he was yesterday."
Alexander Pope

"When we blame, we give away our power."
Greg Anderson

"Don't argue for other people's weaknesses. Don't argue for your own. When you make a mistake, admit it, correct it, and learn from it--immediately."
Stephen Covey

"All blame is a waste of time. No matter how much fault you find with another, and regardless of how much you blame him, it will not change you. The only thing blame does is to keep the focus off you when you are looking for external reasons to explain your unhappiness or frustration. You may succeed in making another feel guilty about something by blaming him, but you won't succeed in changing whatever it is about you that is making you unhappy."
Wayne Dyer

"Don't make excuses--make good."
Elbert Hubbard

"When you plant lettuce, if it does not grow well, you don't blame the lettuce. You look into the reasons it is not doing well. It may need fertilizer, or more water, or less sun. You never blame the lettuce. Yet if we have problems with our friends or our family, we blame the other person. But if we know how to take care of them, they will grow well, like lettuce. Blaming has no positive effect at all, nor does trying to persuade using reason and arguments. That is my experience. No blame, no reasoning, no argument, just understanding. If you understand, and you show that you understand, you can love, and the situation will change."
Thich Nhat Hanh

"Placing the blame is a bad habit, but taking the blame is a sure builder of character."
Dr. 0. A. Battista

"There is luxury in self-reproach. When we blame ourselves, we feel no one else has a right to blame us."
Oscar Wilde

"A man may fall many times but he won't be a failure until he says someone pushed him."
Elmer G. Letterman

“The trouble with this country is that there are too many people going about saying, “The trouble with this country is….”
Sinclair Lewis
