When I first heard this song by Tim McGraw back in August of 2004, it hit home with me more than any song that I had recently heard.
10 years ago was the most trying time of my life. I had a fight on my hands that made me make a change in how I lived my life.
It is kind of funny how the first few days when you get the news, you sit and stare at the report. The next few days are spent in denial. Then, once it hit me, I went back to my doctor and said, "What do you do?"
His words I will never forget. "Son, you are young. But you don't have to give in. You have to live life like each day is the last.'
It was hard to swallow. But, when I left his office I knew that I had to live each day to the fullest. I had to live life like I was dying.
It was an eyeopener as I did things that I probably would have never done in my life if not put into this situation.
Today, I tell people that I come across to never regret what you do or don't do in life. One get one chance to live it. You get one chance to do it the way you want.
No matter what people think, no matter what people say, no matter what they tell you, it is your choice on how you live each and every day. When you awake, do you tell your wife, husband, or significant other that you love them? Are you the best that you can be? Do you do things that you want to do?
Or do you take it all for granted and think that you will do that another day?
I leave you with 2 thoughts.
First, if you died today, did you accomplish or achieve what you wanted to? Did you do the things in life you wanted to or did you sit on the sidelines?
Last, do you life life like you are dying?
